Two BATU members die in workplace accident

BATU extends condolences to the families, friends and work colleagues of our members TJ O’Herlihy and Bryan Whelan who died following an accident while working on Thomond Bridge on the river Shannon in Limerick on Saturday 29^th August 2015.

Both Bricklayers were employed by Paul Mulcair Ltd in pointing and remedial repairs to stonework. A full investigation by the Health and Safety Authority into the exact cause of the accident is currently underway.
