SIT IN AT DUGGAN BROTHERS CONTRACTORS LTD. 

 

Bricklayers employed on the Duggan Brothers Contractors Ltd social housing project for Focus Ireland at Johns Lane West, Dublin, sat in on Monday 7th and Tuesday 8th January 2019 in protest at the failure of their employer,Aintree Construction Ltd, to supply wage slips, pay full holiday pay, provide written contracts of employment and to return Pension/Sick Pay/Mortality cover payments to the Construction Workers Pension Scheme(CWPS). The protest quickly spread to include bricklayers employed on Clancy Construction and Durkan Projects.

 

BATU had brought the situation to the attention of Duggan Brothers Contractors Ltdin correspondence, phone calls, meetings and emails during October, November and December 2018.

 

Following the sit in and a meeting between BATU and Focus Ireland representatives,Duggan Brothers Contractors Ltd and Aintree Construction Ltd agreed to meet BATU. Agreement was reached and now all our members are registered with CWPS and all pension contributions and Holiday Pay backdated to their start date.

 

We urge all members to check with the CWPS(Tel: 01-4977663) to ensure that theiremployer is returning their contributions every month as required by law.
