5.4% PAY INCREASE RECOMMENDED FOR CONSTRUCTION WORKERS
The Minister for Trade, Employment & Business Pat Breen TD, has formally approved a recommendation from the Labour Court for new minimum pay rates for Construction Craft Workers, General Operatives and Apprentices.
The recommendation will increase the minimum Craft rate by 2.7% to €19.44c from the 1st October 2019 and by a further 2.7% to €19.96c per hour from the 1st October 2020.
As required the Minister will now proceed to have the draft order considered in both houses of the Oireachtas over the coming weeks before it can be adopted in law.
