BATU SECURE BACKDATED PENSION PAYMENTS

The Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) has ordered a subcontractor to backdate payment of both the workers and employers portions of contributions to the Construction Workers Pension Scheme.

Following the failure of the employer to return Pension contributions for a period in excess of one year even when advised of his legal obligation to do so, BATU referred the case to the WRC.

The employer also failed to return Sick Pay and Death in Service contributions.
